Woven on vintage shuttle looms at our Japanese Mill, this denim has the perfect amount of 360° movement and is more comfortable than any other selvedge jeans on the market.

Nick Noguchi, the designer at KATO', has decades of experience with selvedge denim and an extensive collection of vintage jeans. He has put all of his knowledge and experience into creating a selvedge denim with all the character and durability of vintage denim but with a level of comfort never before achieved.
Nick had a vision: to make the 360° stretch selvedge. A denim that not only stretches horizontally like traditional stretch denim but also vertically. At first, our mill in Japan said it was technically impossible, but Nick was determined. After many failed attempts and years of development, we were able to produce this amazing 4 - Way Stretch Selvedge

The weight of denim gives you an idea of how thick it is, and how it will feel when you wear it. We make our 4 Way Stretch Selvedge in different weights.
WILL IT FADE LIKE NON-STRETCH SELVEDGE?
Yes! All of our denim will fade like traditional raw selvedge denim. In addition to indigo and black, we also make denim in other colors. This denim is dyed to fade just like classic indigo denim.
