The Kato × White’s Collaboration Boot sits on White’s renowned 55 Arch-Ease™ Last, known for its supportive medium arch and structured fit. This 5" semi-dress silhouette carries the stance of a work boot with a cleaner, more versatile profile.
The upper is crafted from full-grain Black Teacore Chromexcel leather from Horween Leather Company. Combination-tanned for strength and flexibility, Chromexcel is known for its rich depth, water resistance, and character. The teacore finish reveals its true personality over time — as the black surface wears, warm brown tones emerge underneath, creating contrast and dimension unique to each pair.
Underfoot, a black Vibram Christy Crepe sole delivers comfort, grip, and a grounded stance. The all-black upper stitching keeps the profile stealth, while contrasting white sole stitching nods to vintage American workwear. The handsewn stitchdown construction — rarely practiced at this level today — increases durability and allows the boots to be resoled and rebuilt repeatedly.
Inside, the details stay deliberate. A Kato signature orange stitch marks the tongue. Hiroshi Kato branding sits just below the collar. Oxidized brass eyelets paired with black leather drawcord laces add subtle industrial character. Four eyelets and two speed hooks provide balance between reliability and ease.
A solid leather midsole reinforces the structure and molds gradually to your foot over time. These boots start firm and supportive. With wear, they soften, shape, and become distinctly yours.
