KATO x White's Semi Dress - Triple Black

The KATO x WHITE’S Collaboration Boot is a rare intersection of American heritage craftsmanship and modern sensibility. Built on White’s renowned 55 Arch-Ease™ Last, this 5" semi-dress style boot combines meticulous construction with stealth styling. 

The upper is crafted from full-grain, black Teacore Chromexcel leather from Horween Tannery— a celebrated full-grain, combination-tanned leather known for its supple feel, rich luster, water resistance, and character. Teacore leather is prized for the way it ages due to the way it is dyed. Over time, the black outer dye wears down, exposing warm brown tones underneath. This natural change gives the leather a rich, vintage character that continues to gain depth with age.

The boot features a black Vibram Christy Crepe sole, providing both grip and presence. The white sole stitching thread contrasts against all-black stitching for a nod to vintage workwear aesthetics. Handsewn welts are rarely done today because of the time and skill needed, but they increase the durability, function, and beauty of a masterfully crafted pair of boots. The handsewn stitchdown construction allows the boots to be resoled time and time again, so your boots can last a lifetime.

Inside, a Kato signature orange stitch on the tongue and Hiroshi Kato branding just below the boot collar signal the collaboration’s attention to detail. Oxidized brass eyelets, paired with a black leather drawcord, offer a subtle industrial touch.
