Description

Our premium denim is inspired by the classic vintage blue jean. Our Premium Japanese 4-Way Stretch Selvedge denim story starts in Japan where our fabric is developed at one of the oldest denim mills. We blend a unique 4 way stretch material with selvedge denim to create a specific amount of stretch and comfort you wouldn’t typically get with selvedge denim. This 360 degree of stretch gives the wearer comfort from every angle no matter what they are doing.

Our 4-Way Stretch selvedge fabric is weaved using vintage shuttle looms. Rolls of denim fabric are then brought into our workshop in Los Angeles where each pair goes through a 60 to 90 day process of cut, sew, washing and testing. With 4 fits available in multiple weights (see fit guide) and washes, the style options are endless.

Shrinkage

Raw denim has up to 2% shrinkage while it would be 1% for washed denim after wash but they will also stretch out again by being worn over time.

Returns

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, You may return or exchange the items within 21 days from the date the order is shipped out.

Once your order with the hemming request is brought to our tailor, the order will not be refundable.

Denim wash and linen spray are not eligible for return or exchange.

International orders (outside from the US) are not eligible for returns or exchanges.

Crafted with intention, our denim is made using premium Japanese 4-way stretch selvedge in our Los Angeles workshop. Our denim goes through a time consuming 50 day process from start to finish to ensure the highest of quality. Built using only the best available hardware with traditional machines and techniques, you are getting a true vintage inspired piece with a modern upgrade of comfort.

Kato Jeans are top notch!

I bought Pen Slim Indigo Raw 14 oz Selvedge jeans over two weeks back, and have worn it several times now. I can tell that the quality of the material and the stitching is of the highest caliber. Frankly, I have not seen so much attention to detail in a jean. The jeans adapts to the contours of the body.

I hate superlatives but these deserve them

I have N&F, Raleigh, Momotaro, these things are the most comfortable. At 14oz, they're substantial, but after a wash soft as butter. Excellent construction. They don't bleed indigo everywhere. They maintain their shape and still wear great after months without a wash* (*the waist gives A LOT. Size to your thighs and have a belt on hand). Overall, well well worth the ducats.

I keep ordering more. Probably my tenth pair. I made some mistakes washing the first ones so I’ve been replacing them and taking better care of them, but they are my faves.
