Our premium denim is inspired by the classic vintage blue jean. Our Premium Japanese 4-Way Stretch Selvedge denim story starts in Japan where our fabric is developed at one of the oldest denim mills. We blend a unique 4 way stretch material with selvedge denim to create a specific amount of stretch and comfort you wouldn’t typically get with selvedge denim. This 360 degree of stretch gives the wearer comfort from every angle no matter what they are doing.

Our 4-Way Stretch selvedge fabric is weaved using vintage shuttle looms. Rolls of denim fabric are then brought into our workshop in Los Angeles where each pair goes through a 60 to 90 day process of cut, sew, washing and testing. With 4 fits available in multiple weights (see fit guide) and washes, the style options are endless.

Perfect pair

Having purchased different selvdge denim i was hesitant about purchase another pair. To my surprise they fit perfectly. Would recommend these to anyone.

Nothing short of perfection!

Hiroshi Kato yet again shows that they know denim. A perfect weight at 14oz that can be worn year round. And unlike traditional non-stretch selvedge, these are buttery smooth and comfortable from day one. Not a single stitch out of place, beautifully crafted, and stands up to our expectations of paying a premium for something made here in the USA. I own quite a few pairs of selvedge jeans, and while all of them are loved for certain characteristics, aside from N&F, Kato is the only denim brand I would recommend.

Amazing Denim!

This is my second pair of Kato brand selvedge denim. They fit perfectly. I like that these are a more modern, slimmer fit than other selvedge options. The leg opening is slim but not tight. The waist is right on. I wear a 34 in other brands and the 34 fit just right. They do stretch out after a couple of wears but that's nothing out of the ordinary. The 14oz has a nice weight to it but not too heavy for an everyday wear. The black warp and indigo weft make this a unique, dark blue color. I've received complements and been asked many times where I got them. My back pockets have started to fade and it's a nice, dark indigo color. I also have the Indigo Raw Pen Slim. I switch between both pairs for my daily wear. I highly recommend these to anyone looking. Money well spent.
