Nick Noguchi, the designer at KATO, had a vision: to make the most comfortable stretch denim with the look and durability of vintage selvedge. After years of development, we were able to create this amazing 4-Way Stretch Selvedge. Typical stretch denim only expands horizontally, our 4-Way Stretch Selvedge stretches both horizontally and vertically. This unique flexibility in the fabric ensures comfort that adapts to your movements. Kato 4-way Stretch Selvedge is crafted on vintage shuttle looms at our Japanese Mill, this authentic selvedge denim not only promises unparalleled comfort but also outlasts traditional stretch, maintaining its shape and resisting bagging over time.
While we honor our Japanese roots, we live and operate here in the US. There is nothing more important to us than making selvedge denim of the highest quality while building strong bonds with the people we work with. Japanese denim, American built.
