Description

Our premium denim is inspired by the classic vintage blue jean. Our Premium Japanese 4-Way Stretch Selvedge denim story starts in Japan where our fabric is developed at one of the oldest denim mills. We blend a unique 4 way stretch material with selvedge denim to create a specific amount of stretch and comfort you wouldn’t typically get with selvedge denim. This 360 degree of stretch gives the wearer comfort from every angle no matter what they are doing.

Our 4-Way Stretch selvedge fabric is weaved using vintage shuttle looms. Rolls of denim fabric are then brought into our workshop in Los Angeles where each pair goes through a 60 to 90 day process of cut, sew, washing and testing. With 4 fits available in multiple weights (see fit guide) and washes, the style options are endless.

Shrinkage

Raw denim has up to 2% shrinkage while it would be 1% for washed denim after wash but they will also stretch out again by being worn over time.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, You may return or exchange the items within 21 days from the date the order is shipped out.

Once your order with the hemming request is brought to our tailor, the order will not be refundable.

Not for guys with muscular thighs :(

The fabric and quality of the stretch selvedge is amazing, but unfortunately the fit is very off.

They told me to go true to size and that they would stretch out, however, true to size in waste, which technically fit only in waste, was VERY tight in the thigh and an almost inappropriate low rise. so I sized up one size in the waste which left 2inches of extra room in the waist. But because the jeans have a very low rise, it helped by making it an actual medium rise. (Not sure why the rise is so low, the denim must be made for guys with no muscle, just something to be aware of) But it felt just right in the thighs which is the hardest fit for me, so I went with this size and decided to belt them. After wearing for a few months, the denim hardly stretched, but it was ok because they fit well still. Unfortunately i wear my jeans in hot weather like a normal person and I had to wash on a cold gentle cycle, hang to dry, which I do with all my selvedge jeans. The denim shrunk up a lot. So tight to the point where I didn’t enjoy wearing them. I’ve been wearing them for almost 30 wears since and still no change whatsoever in the fit. I think they are permanently shrunk from a gentle cold water cycle in the wash and hang to dry. I used their very own detergent as well.

When I contacted customer service and asked what to do all they said was, “keep wearing the jeans to break them in”. Not to mention had I gone with their recommended sizing, the jeans would be soooo much more tight.

I have been wearing them for 2 months and still no change or loosening. :/

It’s a good quality product but if you have any muscle on your legs or they aren’t stick straight, these jeans probably won’t work for you.

Maybe I should have gone with hammer straight fit? Oh well, a waste of $200 for me and a real bummer :/

Based on your description, it seems the Pen Slim fit might not have been the best match for your body type. Our jeans are designed with various fits to cater to different body shapes, and we regret that the Pen Slim did not work for you.

For customers with an athletic build, we typically recommend our Scissors Slim Tapered fit. This style offers a wider waistband and upper thigh area, as it is intended to be worn slightly below the waist, which may provide a more comfortable fit for those with muscular legs.

Regarding the issue with the jeans not stretching as expected, while our raw denim is designed to expand over time with wear, it appears this did not happen to a satisfactory extent in your case. Washing and drying raw denim can sometimes lead to unexpected shrinkage, even with careful washing on a gentle cycle and air drying. We appreciate your patience in trying to break them in, but we understand that comfort is paramount.

Sharp-looking, good quality jeans

I have two pairs of these jeans (and will likely buy more). They're great. Comfortable and smart-looking -- good for casual wear or Fridays in the office.

Great jeans

Comfortable jeans. I like the 4 way stretch. The skinny jeans are my favorite. Customer service is EXCELLENT and prompt. Jeans are comfortable and look great. Made in USA is a bonus.

Amazing Jeans

I have tried all kinds of selvedge jeans and brands. Never found one that looks quite this good and is comfortable. Never looking at other brands again. Fantastic jeans!
