Our premium denim is inspired by the classic vintage blue jean. Our Premium Japanese 4-Way Stretch Selvedge denim story starts in Japan where our fabric is developed at one of the oldest denim mills. We blend a unique 4 way stretch material with selvedge denim to create a specific amount of stretch and comfort you wouldn’t typically get with selvedge denim. This 360 degree of stretch gives the wearer comfort from every angle no matter what they are doing.

Using a sulfur dye, we are able to create colored denim that fades just like classic blue jeans. Our lightweight 10.5oz denim 4-Way Stretch Selvedge has all of the qualities of top shelf Japanese selvedge while offering a level of comfort and range of motion not possible in a 100% cotton jean.

Dark Green is available in "The Pen" Slim Fit and “The Hammer” Straight Fit.

Crafted with intention, our denim is made using premium Japanese 4-way stretch selvedge in our Los Angeles workshop. Our denim goes through a time consuming 50 day process from start to finish to ensure the highest of quality. Great Jeans Period

I was skeptical at first, but did my research and came across positive reviews via Reddit forums. Well, let me tell you that KATO jeans are of the highest quality. For years, I’ve put up with cheaper denim and have always come out disappointed. With Kato you get what you pay for and it shows in the quality craftsmanship. On top of that, their customer service was second to none. I initially had trouble with my order, but they helped sort everything out much to my satisfaction! Kato you have a customer for life!

great fit

The fit is great as I only buy pants now with some stretch in them. This actually fit better than my other Hiroshi Kato's I have. The color is awesome as well. Highly recommend.
