Description

Our premium Japanese 4-Way Stretch Selvedge denim story starts in Japan where our fabric is developed at one of the oldest denim mills. We blend a unique 4 way stretch material with selvedge denim to create a specific amount of stretch and comfort you wouldn’t typically get with selvedge denim. This 360 degree of stretch gives the wearer comfort from every angle no matter what they are doing.

Using a sulfur dye, we are able to create colored denim that fades just like classic blue jeans. Our lightweight 10.5oz denim 4-Way Stretch Selvedge has all of the qualities of top shelf Japanese selvedge while offering a level of comfort and range of motion not possible in a 100% cotton jean.

Shrinkage

Raw denim has up to 2% shrinkage while it would be 1% for washed denim after wash but they will also stretch out again by being worn over time.

Great quality but too tight in the crotch.

These jeans are a great color and clearly excellent quality. They're comfortable around the legs--I like the straight fit. Unfortunately, the crotch is very bizarre. It feels like it's designed for someone with no junk at all. This isn't a problem with sizing, because the waist fits me perfectly. As it is right now, the jeans show bulge and don't fit comfortably around my groin. This is a massive bummer, because otherwise they're amazing jeans.

Special Jeans

This was my first pair of Kato jeans, and they are instantly my favorite pair of jeans in the closet. They have a comfortable amount of stretch without feeling too stretchy. They feel rigid and substantial but when you put them on they’re flexible. They won’t substantially stretch out over time either so you can wear them 15 times and they’ll fit just like the first time after the wash which is great, so I only wash them when dirty.

In terms of fit, I think the bottom half of the leg is a little wider than what I’m used to and the top half around the thigh is a little tighter. Also they say medium rise but I think (personally) it’s a lot closer to a low rise.

Typically I rock Flint and Tinder jeans by Huckberry and they’re good but these are great and definitely in a class of their own. I took my normal size and inseam like they mentioned. I didn’t recognize and shrinkage in particular with the first wash but that may be because of the brown color choice. Kato did hemming for me to my desired length and they are perfect. I hope to have these for a long time.

Great purchase.

This was my first time purchasing jeans online from this company and I was a little leery. Their product exceeded my expectations. I bought the Hammer straight brown (6”4 215 sz 34) and was thoroughly impressed with the quality and style of their jeans. I would definitely recommend purchasing a pair if you are on the fence. I had initially bought a sz 36 and even the exchange was easy and came relatively fast.

Great denim

I got the brown raw and they're quickly becoming my favorite jeans but in a nice change up color. I got the rain too but they were darker than expected and I liked the raw fit better.

I was not sure at first, but these are the best jeans I own the fit is perfect. A little bit of stretch is appreciated and quality is very high.
