Description

Our premium denim is inspired by the classic vintage blue jean. Our Premium Japanese 4-Way Stretch Selvedge denim story starts in Japan where our fabric is developed at one of the oldest denim mills. We blend a unique 4 way stretch material with selvedge denim to create a specific amount of stretch and comfort you wouldn’t typically get with selvedge denim. This 360 degree of stretch gives the wearer comfort from every angle no matter what they are doing.

Our 4-Way Stretch selvedge fabric is weaved using vintage shuttle looms. Rolls of denim fabric are then brought into our workshop in Los Angeles where each pair goes through a 60 to 90 day process of cut, sew, washing and testing. With 4 fits available in multiple weights (see fit guide) and washes, the style options are endless.

Shrinkage

Raw denim has up to 2% shrinkage while it would be 1% for washed denim after wash but they will also stretch out again by being worn over time.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, You may return or exchange the items within 21 days from the date the order is shipped out.

Once your order with the hemming request is brought to our tailor, the order will not be refundable.

Great fit but don’t liked to be washed

I have ordered several pairs of jeans from Hitoshi Kato and they all seem to fit well initially but then after washing by hand as instructed shrink considerably. The first pair I purchased were the Hammer and they did fair better than the others I purchased after washing but the scissors and Penn have shrunk enough to now be uncomfortable and a bad fit. I absolutely loved the scissors cut I purchased in raw selvedge but now they have shrunk to a point where if I wash them again I fear they’ll not fit at all. They also showed a very noticeable white line down both outside seems and it looks a little silly now too.
I even bought a size larger 38, being a 36 and that did not make much difference.
I continue to where the hammer jeans and May stick with that fit in the future if I decide to buy any more.

Not perfect but something yours

Fit: Compared to Mott and Bow and Bonobos slim fit it feels more in between slim fit and skinny fit.
Material: 10 oz is not as light as summer jeans. It is fairly structured and comfortable.I would say that it is perfect for spring and autumn. No need to break in.
Construction: Flawless.
Usage: I own 20 pairs of different pants and jeans. However, since I bought Kato I wear only them everyday.

Excellent denim

I’ve been wearing the Hiroshi Kato Pen Slim denim jeans for a few months now, and they’ve quickly become my go-to pair.
