Our premium denim is inspired by the classic vintage blue jean. Our Premium Japanese 4-Way Stretch Selvedge denim story starts in Japan where our fabric is developed at one of the oldest denim mills. We blend a unique 4 way stretch material with selvedge denim to create a specific amount of stretch and comfort you wouldn’t typically get with selvedge denim. This 360 degree of stretch gives the wearer comfort from every angle no matter what they are doing.

Our 4-Way Stretch selvedge fabric is weaved using vintage shuttle looms. Rolls of denim fabric are then brought into our workshop in Los Angeles where each pair goes through a 60 to 90 day process of cut, sew, washing and testing. With 4 fits available in multiple weights (see fit guide) and washes, the style options are endless.

Crafted with intention, our denim is made using premium Japanese 4-way stretch selvedge in our Los Angeles workshop. Great jeans

Love these jeans you will too they're super comfortable very soft to touch they're a little bit heavier than I expected but they have plenty of stretch so either way they're still comfortable the colors look great and I'm sure they'll be very nicely the quality and fit is perfect

Great, comfy jeans

This is my first pair ever from Kato, I'm probably not the typical buyer as I own quite a few other raw denim jeans from Japanese brands (Momotaro, Oni, Samurai and Iron Heart) and probably have been a bit spoiled by them but I have to say, for stretch denim (something I thought I wouldn't buy) this is by far the best in terms of quality and price point.
I'm 6'2 and about 68kgs (150~lbs) I originally tried a pair of these on in a store to get an idea of fit, I have to say I would NOT go off the sizing chart here, there isn't enough information measurements-wise for me to understand so I'm glad I knew from personal trying on in-person experience what to purchase, I ended up going with a waist of 29 and it was perfect for me.
I like the faded look for this and think it'll work wonderfully for my spring/summer look. The denim itself seems to be pretty good quality, it's soft and doesn't have any nip or slub but is very well sewn and I love the selvedge ID.
I'm probably spoiled with the Japanese brands I own but was surprised that the back pockets don't have additional rivets, in fact there seems to be very few even in the front. I don't mind the zipper fly and the pocket bags are decent enough material but could have been a little thicker in my opinion and the back leather patch seems ok too, I like the different colours some other models have.
Overall the fit, length and style in this suits me really well and I can see myself getting another pair but maybe in raw providing the fit (sizing) is the same or very similar.
