Measuring Guide
The inseam must not exceed the original length. Refer to our size chart for the original length and inseam measurement instructions. If your desired inseam is longer than the original, we will not provide hemming services. For washed jeans, consider adding extra half inches to account for shrinkage. The original hem width will be maintained for all pants.

Description

Kato’s respect for denim reaches back decades. Our years of experience and research resulted in our own version of the sought after denim of the 70s. This fabric has been crafted with meticulous precision to replicate the uniform texture of the faded vintage denim collected for the Kato archives.

To make this a timeless pair of jeans, we chose our straight cut, “The Hammer” and the modern slim cut “The Pen”. The 12.5 ounce, 100% cotton denim does not have stretch but it will break in and mold to you, making it a pair you will want to wear for years. We wanted these jeans to be vintage down to the core details, so we introduced a button fly, using donut style laurel leaf buttons, which have been acid dyed to give them an authentic aged look. We also added a pop of color with a red leather patch, our own twist on the original. We are offering several versions of the Classic Slub Denim that represent different stages of aging.

This wash reproduces the look of a pair of jeans that have been worn for many years with frequent washing. Usually, when vintage jeans are this faded, they have holes in the knees and are close to falling apart. This pair is only just getting started and has many years of wear to come.

Shrinkage

Raw denim has up to 2% shrinkage while it would be 1% for washed denim after wash but they will also stretch out again by being worn over time.

Returns

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, You may return or exchange the items within 21 days from the date the order is shipped out.

Once your order with the hemming request is brought to our tailor, the order will not be refundable.

Denim wash and linen spray are not eligible for return or exchange.

The best.

I first got introduced to Kato with the signature stretch denim. Huge fan; however, after experiencing the 100% cotton slub, my signature stretch sits in the drawer. I normally wear the 14oz, so I was a little apprehensive to drop the weight, but I was not disappointed. Still the same high quality I’ve come to expect from Kato. Although, I will note that the hammer fits much looser on the slub cuts than does the stretch denim. This is a huge plus for me, but the inconsistency could be an issue for some. FYI.
