In the pursuit of innovation we have created our latest achievement in denim. The idea for Selvedge Air was born out of the love for old vintage denim and the need for comfort. We wanted to introduce a denim that had the look and feel of a 15oz denim but one felt light and very comfortable when worn. After a very long development process with a highly capable mill in Japan, we were finally able to make this vision a reality.
Instead of using the usual 3 X 1 weave of standard denim, we implemented a 5 x 1 weave. This creates a denim with a higher surface thread count but a lower overall thread count, making it lighter and still durable. The low tension yarns and loose denim weave contribute to the thicker look of the denim while maintaining its light feel. The overall result is a vintage textured denim that looks like heavy weight and feels like a lightweight. The Blade Jacket has undergone a wash to add to the vintage look and broken in feel.
You may notice this material has an odor of denim fiber. Most of our denim are processed to control the order of the denim fiber but this style. The odor will go away in the course of time.

Our exclusive 4-Way Stretch Selvedge denim is woven to replicate the texture and feel of vintage denim while adding stretch for more comfort. The raw denim is washed using bleaching techniques to soften up and age the fabric. Then, we use hand sanding and laser print technology to replicate the distinct fades that come with years of actual wear, paying close attention to the fading of natural crease lines.

Excellent fit! Like as described, it still has a raw and rugged look and feel despite its lightness but the stretch adds comfort and allows room for easy layering while having a fitted look. The large I’m wearing as pictured is worn over a heavy flannel and tee underneath. My chest runs around 22-23” and shoulders around 19”-20” and I’m 5’7” at a little under 170 lbs. This Blade jacket is simple yet detailed enough to make it stand out. It’s also highly functional with the hand pockets and larger inner pockets. The stretch also allows easy buttoning. I definitely dig the diagonal twill-like fabric pattern. The contrast stitching and buttons add proper pop factor. The selvedge ID lining along inner opening and collar are a nice touch. This is a masterful piece to wear for the ages.

The beautiful texture of fabric gives this jacket a vintage and rugged look. Definitely looks heavier than 11.5oz fabric yet feels lightweight. The fit is on the slimmer side. Excellent choice if you're looking for a vintage trucker jacket with a modern fit!
