The Hammer Straight Natural Slub Indigo - Miles 12.5oz Selvedge

SKU 3011B51807-30

Kato’s respect for denim reaches back decades. Our years of experience and research resulted in our own version of the sought after denim of the 50s. This fabric has been crafted with meticulous precision to replicate the uniform texture of the faded vintage denim collected for the Kato archives.
To make this a timeless pair of jeans, we chose our straight cut, “The Hammer” and the modern slim cut “The Pen”. The 12.5 ounce, 100% cotton denim does not have stretch but it will break in and mold to you, making it a pair you will want to wear for years. We wanted these jeans to be vintage down to the core details, so we introduced a button fly, using donut style laurel leaf buttons, which have been acid dyed to give them an authentic aged look. We also added a pop of color with a red leather patch, our own twist on the original. We are offering several versions of the Classic Slub Denim that represent different stages of aging.

Miles - Overdyed Indigo
This is a very special version of our Classic Slub Denim. We took the Raw Indigo jeans and overdyed them black for a pair that will produce fades like no other. The jeans start out looking black with a deep indigo undertone. As they fade, the indigo is revealed, which will also eventually fade, showing the white core of the fabric yarns. These distinct fades are sought after by denim connoisseurs, will have more contrast and definition.

These jeans are non stretch and take time to break in.

Great quality

My new favorite denim. Love the button fly vintage wash. I have 3 pair in Hammer cut (Dizzy, Miles and Ella washes) and I'll be coming back for more.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! The vintage button fly and high-quality slub indigo fabric make it a standout piece in our collection. We hope to continue providing you with great denim options in the future. Thanks again for your support.

Nicely done

The denim, dye and craftsmanship in these dungarees is on another level for me. The denim is soft but tougher than stiffer jeans I've had. When I see "slub" I generally think of short lifespan but not these. I've had em for about 10 months and the denim has proven to be quite durable.

There's a lot of subjectivity when it comes to comfort of cuts, but the fit here is perfect for me, I'm a little chunky, 205 lbs, 6'0", 33's stretched to size and not any more. Deep black-blue dye is something I haven't seen, wearing in nicely. Constructed well and neatly. Superb, imo.

Thank you for your review, David! We're glad to hear that you appreciate the quality of the denim and the dye job.

Finest jeans I have ever owned

When you unbox them the first thing that is obvious is there is a very high level of craftsmanship. No loose threads and ruler straight seams. The fabric is much softer than the typical selvedge. I have big legs and there is plenty of room in the thigh and calf area. Medium rise. I have had them for a few months and the face is beginning and it is subtle and extremely unique. They will be magnificent in a year or so. The very best jeans I have ever owned, and well worth the price.

Thanks for the great review - we're so happy you're loving the Hammer Straight Natural Slub Indigo, Mark! We hope you keep enjoying them for years to come.
