The Pen Slim - Julian 14oz Selvedge

Our premium denim is inspired by the classic vintage blue jean. Our Premium Japanese 4-Way Stretch Selvedge denim story starts in Japan where our fabric is developed at one of the oldest denim mills. We blend a unique 4 way stretch material with selvedge denim to create a specific amount of stretch and comfort you wouldn’t typically get with selvedge denim. This 360 degree of stretch gives the wearer comfort from every angle no matter what they are doing.

Our 4-Way Stretch selvedge fabric is weaved using vintage shuttle looms. Rolls of denim fabric are then brought into our workshop in Los Angeles where each pair goes through a 60 to 90 day process of cut, sew, washing and testing. With 4 fits available in multiple weights (see fit guide) and washes, the style options are endless.

Luxurious feel

The quality of the denim and construction is phenomenal. These jeans are so comfortable, the feel of the 14oz denim is incredible. The wash is great, looks fantastic! I bought one pair of Kato jeans and then bought a whole bunch more, this is my new go-to brand

Very Disappointing…

Sir/Madam,

I received my order of Julian jeans in the Pen cut, waist size 33 but the waist is extremely tight - not a chance it’s above a 32 at best. I’ve been a long-time customer and even wrote a few reviews on your website. I own three other pairs of jeans from your company: the Paul, the Rain, and the Indigo Raw - all in waist size 33, all in the Pen cut. All fit perfectly and no, I have not gained one lb.

I e-mailed the company twice about this. Crickets - no acknowledgment for either. It’s possible this particular model runs tight/
small. It is also possible that the pair I received is tighter than the usual 33 waist jeans you produce and which all fit me perfectly. Either way, an acknowledgment would have been nice as well as some resolution to this issue.

Beautiful Denim

This is my first pair of Kato denim and I am thoroughly impressed. This is a very comfortable pair of jeans. I love the color of the selvedge ID. I am about to grab the Old Blue Raw next!
